Having a positive relationship with food is such a wonderful feeling! You can almost FEEL your body saying thank you.
What a great experience to eat, knowing that with every bite you nourish one or a few of your body’s functions.
I have always believed that the food God or Mother Earth provides for us is there for a
reason. That is what our body understands the best.
My
journey with healthy food habits comes a long way. It took a few physically scary wake-
up calls to realise that every time I fall back to eating terribly wrong, one (or more) parts of my body crashes.
So yes, I have survived Stage 3 Cancer and Systemic Lupus – by reverting to eating the
foods that my body needs to get me through it. Of course, I have always simultaneously
taken all medications and treatments that the medical teams prescribed.
However, I strongly believe that the healthy food (together with exercise and relaxation
techniques) will prevent more health problems in the future.
I do not believe in the word “diet” as it implies restrictions which leads to a negative
relationship with food. I much rather prefer to look at the food on my plate and feel happy about how my body benefits from it.
